It was my first attempt at making a Hallowe'en costume, and although it took a long time to figure it out, I did it! Next year, our second daughter (due December 9th) will wear the pumpkin costume for her first Hallowe'en too!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1111118853467520988.post-18455424468049506082009-10-13T10:28:28.275-07:002009-10-13T10:28:28.275-07:00As a child we always had homemade costumes, I don&...As a child we always had homemade costumes, I don't think we even knew there was such things as store bought. We had a rotation between my brother and sister and myself. We took turns being a farmer, witch, and a ghost. You can imagine my brother always wanted to be the farmer.

Such great memories! I moved to Vancouver when I was 12, and I was very excited to experience my first real Halloween that October. My costume wasn't very original though - my best friend and I went trick or treating dressed up as cheerleaders, pompoms and all!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08548295021833183330noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1111118853467520988.post-52672402475685146142009-10-07T13:29:28.616-07:002009-10-07T13:29:28.616-07:00Here's one I can't blame on my mum!

(A costume unashamedly nicked from the dynamic Mrs. B). Being a recent Vancouver transplant, I had a last minute attack of politically correct nerves, and phoned my hostess to ask if there would be anyone attending who'd be offended by my choice. My friend's Scottish and not-so-politically-correct husband laughed heartily that only a Canadian would phone ahead to check the appropriateness of their outfit!

Nevertheless it was very popular, and I think it won me a bottle of something sparkly. Up there with the Freudian Slip I wore the next year - but that's a tale for another day ....Lynne Boardmanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07315228318993093712noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1111118853467520988.post-22882072706210634102009-10-04T18:11:39.200-07:002009-10-04T18:11:39.200-07:00My best costume was when I was about 10. I covered a box in tin foil and used spice jar lids for knobs and went as a robot. I looked terrible, I couldn't walk and bobbing for apples was completely out of the question...but man was I proud and it's the only one I really remember!jenperkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15840122857259760589noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1111118853467520988.post-21148032612562440192009-10-02T10:55:07.130-07:002009-10-02T10:55:07.130-07:00As I kid I always had awesome hand-made Halloween ...As I kid I always had awesome hand-made Halloween costumes, thanks to my crafty mom. I remember two in particular. One year I dressed up as Rainbow Brite complete with the boots and crazy yarn wig. Another year, and this is still my favourite costume, I was Daisy Duck. I had "high-heeled" shoe covers, a padded duck-butt and a stuffed hood that looked like Daisy's head. It was so realistic that I could have been a mascot at DisneyWorld. :)SpifferTifferhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06175744392243673885noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1111118853467520988.post-71064260392574871182009-10-01T19:31:53.012-07:002009-10-01T19:31:53.012-07:00My best Halloween costume was in University.
