Packing a Waste-Free Lunch for my daughters is very important for the environment and also for setting a great example for my children and my students at school.

Packing a waste free lunch is important to me, because it's better for the environment and better for my kids because the materials are safer. It's also nice to buy something once rather than constantly buying and throwing away which saves us money.

I try to do whatever I can to protect myself and the environment. Packing a waste-free lunch is so important to me, and is a relatively easy thing to do! Not only can I be sure I am not exposing myself to toxins, but it also reduces my contributions to landfills.
Also, I subscribe to your newsletter!
As a teacher I see bags and bags of garbage going to the landfill after every lunch period. It bothers me that children are eating so many foods that are prepackaged and unhealthy. A waste free lunch is hopefully a healthier lunch and free from unhealthy chemicals. In the schools we strive for litter-less lunches and healthy meal choices.

Using reusable items for lunch and snacks makes me feel better about the environment. It also gives my children a good example to follow.
A waste free lunch is important to me because I grew up in a state where we recycled and were careful of packaging. I grew up this way and I continue to do this way to put less in the landfill and to make sure nothing leaches into my child's food! In addition, it teaches another generation how to do it right!

Being able to pack a lunch (which I do everyday as a university student) and to waste the least amount possible is not only important for the environment, but it's important to set an example to my niece and to others about a better way to waste less. The more people that can be taught how to reduce their waste, the better off we will be later!

I have always packed my boys' lunches in re-usable containers for their safety, for the environment and well, for my budget too! As a former teacher, I knew first-hand how daily lunch disasters were harming our environment. We have to teach by example. My oldest is going into grade 11 and I still fill his lunch bag with 4-6 glass containers and sometimes your handy sandwich enveloppe, each day. One day, as he was leaving for school I asked him how he felt about all these little containers, and he said the other kids told him he was lucky to have such nice lunches. I almost cried.
By the way, I receive your e-mails.
I feel that packing a waste-free lunch is important for our son to see. It's important to instill in him respect for our environment early on so he will be more responsible as he grows up. Teaching him the 3 R's today will lead to a better tomorrow. Bit cheesy, yes, but true. :)
Packing a waste free lunch for my boys is both important for the environment and also for our budget. My oldest son has fine motor issues too and we found that plastic wrap and baggies caused him to come home with most of his lunch uneaten as a small boy~ it took so much time to peel off all the wrappings that he didn't have time to eat! Waste free containers really helped him with this and help me to know how much lunch to send too :)

I feel that packing a waste free lunch helps me and my family to eat better. When I use reusable containers, I have to think about what's going in them, instead of mindlessly tossing in prepackaged food. I also find that unique lunch containers and drink bottles invite questions from others and give an opportunity to educate them about creating less waste.

packing waste free lunches is very important to our family ,the're 4 children and all that packaging really adds up in both the landfills and on the pocket book. Also i want to know what my kids are eating and from what they're eating. I also like being able to be creative with all the special containers you have.
i also subscribe to your sight. i would really love to win!!!! cool contest.
Packing a waste free lunch mean that I am doing my part to live with a smaller footprint. our family recycles and composts at home, why shouldn't I be doing that for my away meals as well?
I love the re-useable sandwich wrappers and the funky stainless containers - they are not just for kids!!! We all need a litte fun in out "brought from home lunch".

Packing a waste free lunch is important to me not only because I want to show my children that we should do what we can to decrease the amount of garbage we create, but also, lunch looks waaaay better in a cool reusable lunch setup than in boring ziplock bags and plastic wrap.

Packing a waste free lunch is important to me as I'd love to emphasize to my kids how they need to respect our environment and not fill our landfills! I'm tired of buying ziploc baggies knowing full well where they will end up and how much money I am throwing away! I bought my first set of reusable snack bags this summer and would love a complete reusable lunch kit system!

Why is packing a waste free lunch important to me... For various reasons. Initially there is the benefit to the environment, but alternatively, it also saves tonnes of money over the course of a year. There is the added benefit that it sets a great example for your kids and inspires them at a young age to be aware of what they do on a day to day basis.

I think it's an easy way to be environmentally conscious and it's something easy for your children to do. Be a good role model to your children (about caring for our planet). Thanks for the chance to win.
Packing a waste free lunch makes it easier to send (and take!) a healthy lunch with more interesting foods. My son enjoys discovering what's inside all the containers and subsequently eats a larger variety of food for his snack and lunch. Not only do we produce less waste, it's healthier for us as well.
Packing a waste free lunch is important for many reasons, but mainly for me there are two very important reasons. 1: To keep Mother Earth clean and healthy. Without her - we are nothing. And 2: To teach my daughters early on that its important to love where we live. To help reduce our impact on the earth.

A waste-free lunch is very important! When meals are packed to go, it is common to find items for the meal contained in extra packaging, plastic, cans, etc. The best wrapper is what mother nature provided (apple peels, etc) and using a reusable bag/container will eliminate the need for throw away bags!

As a big fan off your products and as a family we are making the commitment to lead a more eco green way off living.Whats a great way to start as we mean to go on with our children who are in on the idea. Packing a waste free lunch for my girls is a great start as it shows people that you can pack a lunch with out the plastic bags that we cannot reuse at the end off the day and that end up on the landfills site. Not only by packing a sensible lunch bag we are reduction the potential health risks associated with all the plastic and vinyl products that can leak into foods and harm the children. so heres to a new nation off going green and our children are the key and future to our planets life and for their children to come.
Packing a waste free lunch is important to me because I believe it is our responsibility to take care of the planet, and set a good example for the younger generation. I also appreciate that waste free lunch products tend to be safer. My email is river26[at]gmail.com
Being waste free is so important to us here, breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks - we try to go litter free every time we eat, whereever we eat. It's important for so many reasons - environmental, economic, simplifying, hygenic - I could go on forever!
Packing a waste free lunch is important because we don't have anywhere to put our garbage anymore and it's going to end up polluting our water sources. I also like to get good value out of something and like to reuse it as long as I can!

Waste-free lunches are just a part of how I teach my daughter to care for our earth and the environment. It also teaches her to role-model to other children (and she is only 4!)

I want my children to waste not, want not and making sure that their lunches are "Waste Free" is important to all of us..we recycle, reuse, and replant..We make sure that they will eat what is packed and that the containers are things we can wash and repack..fair-trade is also very important to us..we have never shopped Walmart and such and are always on the look out for ways to support our earth!
I think it's important to start with our children and teach them the importance of saving our planet. It's important that they learn that every little bit helps.
I want to teach my children what waste-free is and how to practice it daily even in the little things. There is nothing quite as satisfying as hearing my daughter say "why don't you bring a water bottle then you wouldn't have to buy one." There is no better way to teach my kids than to practice what I preach and sending them to school with waste-free lunch is just one way to do that.
Packing a waste-free lunch is important to me for many reasons, but since it's almost back to school time... I think as a teacher I need to model to my kinder students what I would want them to do and not only showing them, but teaching them the importance.

My family tries to be Environmentally Friendly, but so many GREEN items are expensive and we have trouble making ends meet as it is. Ultimately, we end up putting off buying them until "we have more money". A waste free lunch kit would help me teach my daughter respect for the environment, to appreciate the things we have, and that not everything is 'disposable'. It would also help us to save money by not having to buy single use items.
I try to teach my children to care for the environment by living what I preach and setting the example. Packing a waste-free lunch for my son is a way for me to get that message across to him, without even having to say the words. He knows exactly why I pack him litterless lunches, and he's proud to take them to school. Of course there is also the added bonus of saving money, woo hoo!

Anything to help the environment and send an example to all the kids.
I grew up with a waste free lunch kit from Tupperware. These waste free lunch items are way more environmental and reusable. Not just for school but for trip with the family. Giving my child the chance to be a part of the change we want to see!
I hate garbage! I hate seeing garbage thrown carelessly on the ground even more!! Sending my daughter to school with a litterless lunch is an example for the other kids, and, I hope, contributes to a cleaner school yard and classrooms, just for starters. Using non-leaching, non-toxic products is a no-brainer when you understand the long-term dangers. Also, using litterless lunch containers means I can buy in bulk (less packaging and cost), AND I get to see what hasn't been eaten when it comes home so I'm more on top of the nutrition angle.

Packing a waste-free lunch is important to me because I am trying to teach my son that even the smallest actions can make a difference in the world. A single snack-sized plastic bag may not seem like much, but multiply it by hundreds of students over hundreds of days and suddenly the impact is much greater. And that's just from one school!
Not only do I rant to all my friends about Lavish and Lime - my FAVOURITE place to buy eco friendly/non-toxic items for my children, but I subscribe to your email newsletter as well. And I'm NOT sucking up! IT IS TRUE!!!
My daughter is starting preschool for the first time in a few weeks, and I've been torn with what to send her to school with. It is so important to me to provide her with safe, non-toxic lunch kits simply because I lover her with all my heart and will do anything i can to protect her! Teaching her to be litterless is VERY important to me, because I know she is the next generation coming up that needs to learn to value the beautiful earth she lives on. I want her to respect this world and everything in it!!!

Packing a waste-free lunch is important to me because I like to be part of the solution rather than the problem.
I also like to show my son how easy it is to make changes to help the environment and that I want to leave him something other than garbage when I am dead and gone.
I feel that packing a waste-free lunch is important for everyone in our houshold, for school and work. This is both good for our environment, as well as the old saying of...lead by example. Show others the benefits of using environmentally friendly containers and bags, this could lead to more doing the same.
I don't want my kids contributing to the litter on their school playground! (I'm just a little nervous that their fancy, new RuMe bags won't make it back home each day...! We'll see!)

We are now starting our third year of making waste-free lunches. It's a way of life and something I want to model for our children. We only have one earth and we need to treat it with respect. We have very little control over how our food is packaged/processed, and if I can choose containers that won't negatively affect the health of my children, I will do so. I just went out today to buy more stainless steel containers for our youngest who starts Kindergarten next week!

packing a wastefree lunch is such an easy task, yet so important. less waste in landfills, less chemicals on our foods, and saves money.
